This episode is pure gold if you're someone who values relationships and wants to grow better ones. We talk a lot about how parents, teachers, and youth workers can encourage their students to find and build authentic friendships.
About Melissa:
I am passionate about supporting people facing the messiness of life — its difficulties and its joys — with actionable tools and approaches that can provide sustained change. It is inspiring providing space so people can take risks and bravely learn to respect their whole story — on their own terms. Working with clients in a therapeutic setting is a great privilege. I know first hand that the healing journey can be uncomfortable. Facing fears and reflecting inward is tough work. Yet, this is where people can discover the pathway to freedom by discovering their own reserves of courage.
I help teens and women struggling with disordered eating, trauma and distressing life events, anxiety, grief, life adjustments, identity issues, and shame. Together we can define your own goals for change.
Along with my own journey through therapy, faith is another avenue that has brought me great freedom. I enjoy integrating evidenced-based clinical approaches with faith for those who value a mind, body and soul approach.

Like many native San Diegans, I enjoy being outside as much as possible, particularly in water. I also love sporting events, concerts, dancing, and experimenting with art and writing. Growing up with 3 sisters inspired my love for women’s issues, humor, and deep authentic relationships.
